My name is Lucy Bieri, the co-founder of Shea Butter International/EXXENZE. Lucy was born in Nigeria and has been living in Switzerland for over three decades. She is a supplier and importer of shea butter, with extensive experience in the industry. Throughout her life, she has been closely connected to the local shea community at the grassroots level. Leveraging her knowledge and expertise as a manufacturer, she assists skin care ingredient seekers in overcoming the challenges of sourcing high-quality, traceable, ethical, and sustainable natural shea butter directly from its origin.
Shea Butter International LLC is a registered company in Nigeria with export certification. Its parent company, EXXENZE, is registered in both Nigeria and Switzerland.
We established rural women shea cooperatives in West Central Nigeria through Shea Butter International and EXXENZE. Providing support and training to grassroots shea nut pickers and processors.

Our primary objective is to share valuable knowledge about processes that add value with the NGOs within the group, enabling them to operate effectively and efficiently. Our efforts are focused on promoting social protection services for producer groups and empowering women.
We place great emphasis on collaborating with local producer communities. Responsible practices are crucial for ethical reasons because we believe that by taking responsibility for the well-being of the environment and the people, we can ensure a future where natural shea butter raw material remains available at reasonable costs and high quality. We are actively promoting the increased involvement of women in nut production and butter-making through cooperative organizations. This long-term empowerment project focuses on local participation, skill development, the introduction and adoption of improved processing technologies for shea butter, and sustainability. Working closely with women cooperatives allows us to enhance our capacity to meet the global demand for top-quality shea products.
